We offer ISA Brown which is a fantastic, highly productive breed that is perfect for any backyard or farm and is beginner friendly.

ISA Brown ($50)

  • Origin: Developed in France in 1978.

  • Egg Laying Rate: Prolific layers, producing 300 to 350 large brown eggs per year.

  • Colour: Beautiful reddish-brown or light chestnut plumage.

  • Beginner Friendly?: Yes! They are famous for being incredibly gentle, affectionate, and easy to manage.

Olive

These hardy and fun birds were developed in the United States as a special hybrid cross. They are great producers that lay 275 stunning olive-green eggs a year. They are beginner-friendly because they have a wonderful, calm temperament and are very easy to care for.

Azure blues

Developed in Europe from elite lines, these elegant birds have striking silver-white feathers. They are incredible layers that give you around 295 bright blue pastel eggs per year. They are very beginner-friendly because they are sweet and adapt quickly, though they just need a little extra shelter in freezing weather.

Noirans

These heavy, hardy french chickens have beautiful glossy black feathers with pretty copper tinges around their necks. They are excellent producers that lay 250 to 295 deep chocolate-brown eggs annually. They are very beginner-friendly due to their quiet, gentle personality, and they make great dual-purpose birds for both meat and eggs.
